Mark your calendars for 7 April, 2018. ELAGA, a new St Andrews event, is setting an ambitious goal for itself: planning on becoming the largest music festival held in St Andrews history with over 2,500 guests, a bigger venue, bigger stage, and, of course, bigger artists.
Under its theme ‘REBOOT,’ ELAGA seeks to ‘reboot’ the student event experience. Run by a collective of students looking to recharge the concept of St Andrews events, ELAGA promises to make even the most event hardened fourth year feel once more like a fresher at Opening Ball. From the new, undisclosed venue to an unparalleled VIP experience, ELAGA will attempt to amplify every aspect of an event and create an atmosphere where time passes carelessly.
ELAGA recognises this initiative begins with its artists. At its core a music festival, the ELAGA Committee is dedicated towards building an artist lineup unlike anything St Andrews has yet to see. From 12 – 4 pm there will be a series of live bands, local DJs, and up-and-coming pop singers from around the UK. From 4 – 8 pm, ELAGA will bring on internationally acclaimed talent. If you haven’t noticed yet, ELAGA’s going to be big.
If that’s not enough, the ELAGA Committee are looking to make a much more comprehensive experience than just music. Regardless of the ticket type purchased, ELAGA will be an epicurean and thoroughly unique experience for every guest. Standard tickets (£50) will gain access to culinary experiences, along with bars, art installations (which are promised to be highly Instagrammable), the main stage with the music acts mentioned, and other interactive experiences within the venue. The VIP ticket, priced at £100 and available limited time only through the ballot (check their Facebook page for more information!) will have access to all standard ticket offerings along with a truly luxe escape, including a sushi bar and other culinary experiences (we hear a negotiations with a French chef are in the works), jacuzzis, neck massages, bottle service, and much more – truly, this will be a St Andrews experience like no other.
So what are you waiting for? ELAGA will be a complete, immersive event which will encompass a music festival and a variety of sensory experiences, built by students harnessing as many creative mediums as possible to truly change the St A event game.
