1. FemSoc Travelling Library, Friday 13th November

“Join FemSoc at the Union to pick up a book from our feminist and intersectional travelling library!” There are over 30 texts available, and the full list is available here via Google Docs: https://docs.google.com/…/1uRh2QDHlDVhQZlP0…/edit
Renting out books is free to members, but anyone can buy membership for £3 to rent a book. They will be located at one of the booths at the Main Bar. Happy reading!

 

2. Women in Work: Let’s Talk Internships, Saturday 14th November

“Join Women in Work to hear from current and alum St Andrew’s students talk about their internship experiences providing you with top tips to be a competitive applicant and secure your dream internship.” This is sure to be a helpful event, as summer internship applications are often due in the winter and spring.

3. Festive Up-Cycled Bottle Sale, in Front of the Union, Saturday 14th November

“Light up your Christmas spirit by buying one of our up-cycled fairy lights spirit bottles! Christmas is all about giving, and by purchasing one of our bottles, you’d be directly giving back to your community. All of our proceeds go to our beneficiaries, so every bottle sold matters.” Hosted by Green Start St Andrews, these bottles are truly a great gift and simply beautiful!
Bottles will be sold for £12 each, and we’ll be outside the union this Saturday (November 14) from 11:00AM to 3:00PM. Limited stock – Come early to avoid disappointment!

 

4. Give Blood – St Andrews, Monday 16th November

Hosted by the University of St Andrews Blood Donation Society.

“The Scottish Blood Transfusion Service (SBTS) will visit the Students’ Association on Monday 16 November to allow staff and students to give blood. Appointments must be booked in advance and you must register with the Blood Transfusion Service to be able to book.”
Keep in mind, no walk-in appointments will be available. All students and staff who have been fit and well and would like to give blood can book online or call 0345 90 90 999. In addition, anyone who has tested positive or strongly believes they have had Covid-19 is asked to contact the Service as they may be able to donate convalescent plasma which could be used to treat Covid-19.

5. Wardlaw x ArtSoc Workshop Series, Wednesday 18th November

Hosted by The Art Society and Museums of the University of St Andrews. “Wardlaw X ArtSoc workshop series begins!! Every other Wednesday of the semester we’ll be posting a workshop video surrounding the theme of identity and inspired by the museums’ collections. These videos are made with love by our committee members and we hope you’ll try them out!”

Video links will be posted on the Facebook Event Page at 1pm each alternate Wednesday and then you can join us on Teams chat room to share what you made and talk with other students about your work! Email [email protected] to be added to the Teams channel.
