Lumsden Sets the Clocks to PIMM’S

PIMMS Refilled will mark the revival of the Lumsden Club’s popular charity event.

Older students will remember PIMM’S, the Lumsden Club’s annual celebration of all things red and fizzy. Following a two year break, the Lumsden ladies have chosen to revive the springtime soirée, now an autumnal opening to the new school year. Although its hiatus will result in some changes to this classic event, PIMMS Refilled is set to the retain all the things that made its predecessors so popular – namely, excellent music and plenty of Pimm’s.

Billed by the Club as “a preview of things to come”, PIMMS Refilled will feature half a jug of Pimm’s (and more) per person, best put to use during a game of Pimm’s Pong. As the cheap alcohol flows, guests can dance to the musical stylings of DJ Joe Grimeh, whose set will come on the heels of an opening number by four-piece band the Bluesberries.

The Lumsden Club takes its name from Louisa Lumsden, a prominent woman in the history of St Andrews. In her honour, the Club supports women’s and children’s charities both at home and abroad, with proceeds from this year’s events going to local non-profit Fife Women’s Aid. It is worth noting that Lumsden is one of the few St Andrews-based organisations to hold the title of registered charity: Although the bulk of our town’s events are held in support of a good cause, only a handful of committees are actually registered with OSCR. The Lumsden Club’s commitment to their founding purpose is evident in all that they do, including their public events.

PIMMS Refilled will be held at The Rule on Tuesday, 13th September. Tickets will be available for purchase via Tilt on Saturday, 3rd September.
