Christmas Bells are Ringing and Your Wardrobe is Singing

Oonag tells us how to dress with Christmas spirit!

As the end of first semester draws near, deadlines loom and caffeine addictions beckon. The diligent academics power through their coursework, while the rest of us mere mortals grasp at any opportunity to procrastinate. What better way to avoid reality and curb that caffeine addiction than retail therapy? Is it ever really too early for planning your festive wear? Nay, says I. From Christmas day outfits to Christmas jumpers to New Year’s Eve attire, the festive season provides more options for distraction than one could hope for. Whether you are going home for the holidays or staying in St Andrews, here are some tips for how to rock around the Christmas tree in style.

2017’s A/W fashion seems to be shaping up in support of one colour in particular. Red. From Givenchy to Fendi to Calvin Klein, vibrant reds are the trend of the season. So what better colour to channel this Christmas than that channelled repeatedly by Father Christmas himself? The fiery shade suits all skin tones, yet many shy away from the striking hue. However, from burgundy to wine to cerise, there’s a tone for every event over the holidays. More affordable high street retailers, such as Marks & Spencer and Topshop, have already caught onto the trend, with such a variety of shades and designs that there’s no excuse not to make a crimson splash this season. While a head-to-toe outfit in single-shaded red is ostensibly eye-catching, mix things up by pairing a cranberry shade dress with tomato red knee-high boots for a fashion-forward statement that is a little more low-key.

For those of us celebrating the holidays in the less forgiving climates, like that of our beloved St Andrews, this season’s trends have also got us covered. With the recent wave of 80s and 90s nostalgia, fancy tights have made a welcome comeback (who among us doesn’t jump at the chance to channel our inner Carrie Bradshaw or Cher Horowitz?). Rather than being a vague afterthought, let tights be your most striking accessory this December. From lace bridal-esque designs to fluff, this functional trend will surely replace the madness of fishnet designs we saw this year. Vintage faux fur coats and jackets are still reigning supreme this winter, so if you can thrift it, buy it. Statement furs are a recurring trend, so if you’re expecting a frosty Christmas,  it’s a worthwhile investment.

Let’s face it though, Christmas attire really isn’t all about sporting fashion-forward items. For the Christmas enthusiast, there is one item of clothing that is an absolute must – the Christmas jumper. Whether you’re a fan of the traditional designs, humorous film references, or anti-Christmas cheer, there’s a festive jumper for everyone. They may not be on-trend, but they truly are a Christmas staple. However, if you still want to feel stylish, try having a perusal of vintage and charity shops for Christmas jumpers with a unique look, but still in-keeping with the festive feel. Extra props to anyone who manages to incorporate red tones, a Christmas jumper, lace tights, and Christmas-themed accessories. It may be overkill, but if you’re going to be extra, there is no better time of year.

    Troubleshooting your promo code

We make sure our promo codes work all the time. However sometimes they are updated for whatever reason at Namecheap or other issues might arise. Make sure if your typing in the promo code correctly.

  5. Thanks for the suggestions you have contributed here. Additionally, I believe there are numerous factors which really keep your insurance premium down. One is, to bear in mind buying motors that are inside good set of car insurance corporations. Cars which have been expensive are more at risk of being robbed. Aside from that insurance coverage is also using the value of your truck, so the more expensive it is, then higher the particular premium you only pay.
