Dress Your Boyfriend for a Week
I dressed my boyfriend for an entire week.
One night, at a lovely flat dinner, my friend Hanna turned to me and said, “You should write an article as fashion editor about dressing Kyle for a week.” So by popular demand, we have done just this. This past week from Monday to Friday, I dressed by boyfriend Kyle in outfits I thought worked well. Though I am fashion editor, I am not God. I shall let the people decide whether these outfits are “hot or not.” I limited myself to only using the clothes in his closet.
Below are the outfits of the week, my opinion, Kyle’s opinion, and Kyle’s mom’s opinion. Since his mama is the one that first dressed him, she will judge whether these outfits live up to expectation. After all, mama knows best.
Monday:
Me: I think the simple black is a nice touch to a Monday look. He looks like he isn’t trying too hard (it’s a Monday) but yet looks very sharp.
Kyle: I like black too, I don’t really wear that shirt as often as I should.
Kyle’s Mom: I have always thought that a black shirt and dark jeans are a perfect combination. You can wear it at any occasion.
Tuesday:
Me: This is my second favourite outfit of the week. It is very clean, but figure flattering. I think the Timberlands give it a bit of character.
Kyle: I pretty much always wear my Timbs, sometimes it’s good when it matches with what I’m wearing like it does in this outfit.
Kyle’s Mom: This is a look that says “I am confident about myself,” very relaxed and the Timberlands complete the message.
Wednesday:
Me: In complete honesty, we were running out of top and jean combos. I like this top, but I think the yellow is a bit too vibrant for February in Scotland.
Kyle: I love this shirt, despite the colour it keeps me warm and makes me feel like a bit of a lumberjack.
Kyle’s Mom: I like the black and orange shirt because it’s an outfit that is perfect for a long fall walk in the countryside.
Thursday:
Me: I love the red plaid. This outfit screams “American teenager” but I think this young European pulls it off well.
Kyle: Probably my favourite outfit of the week, this is my favourite shirt. Another hit.
Kyle’s Mom: I have to say red and black is my favourite colour combination. The fact the squares are small makes the shirt sporty and elegant at the same time.
Friday:
Me: My favourite outfit of the week. He looks like a cuter Steve Jobs! I love green and black together.
Kyle: Studying philosophy means you sort of have to own a turtleneck– and this is the one I have. Last one of the week and a great combo.
Kyle’s Mom: This is the intellectual look. It could easily be worn by a university professor.
