Opening Ball Returns to Dazzle Lower College Lawn

“Buy tickets promptly in order to avoid disappointment.”

The highly anticipated Opening Ball will return to Lower College Lawn on Saturday 6th October. Hosted by the Kate Kennedy Club, it promises to be a night of both elegance and debauchery: providing first year students with an introduction to the traditional St Andrean nightlife of ball gowns, champagne, and grandeur.

In a spectacular lit-up marquee, over 1000 guests will be welcomed by a Highland Piper and a  complimentary glass of bubbly, with the usual sweet treats of popcorn, candy floss, and Janetta’s ice cream, available free of charge. Favourite food vendors – La  Crêperie  and Pizza Wildfire – will additionally be on offer for those seeking a more savoury bite to eat.

The entertainment for the evening promises to be as varied as ever, catering for all tastes. Both the main and smaller dancefloors will  host a selection of sought after musical talent: in addition to the  yet-to-be-announced headlining artist,  a  jazz band, bpm music collective, Ryzy, and a mysterious ‘club surprise’ will play throughout the evening.

Opening Ball sees both first years and old timers return in all their finery year after year, providing a much needed sigh of relief for when the semester is in full swing. As an optimum event in the black-tie social calendar, it is one not to be missed.

In keeping with tradition, the ball will be in aid of the KK’s chosen charities: this year supporting  Autism Rocks Fife, Toby’s Magical Journey, and Home-Start East Fife. It is recommended to buy tickets promptly in order to avoid disappointment.

Opening Ball takes place 6 October 2018, 8pm to 2am. Tickets available at: .
